Child Safety, Ethics & Privacy Standards
The safety, dignity, and wellbeing of every child are our highest priority. Learn about our strict safeguarding protocols and international ethical compliance.
Our Core Commitment
Imurenge.com operates under the principles of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). We ensure every child's digital identity is protected, no unmonitored communication occurs, and financial support is delivered with complete transparency.
1. Alias & Identity Protection
To safeguard children from online exploitation, identity theft, and social stigma, all profiles published on the public directory use approved first-name aliases. Full legal surnames, national identification numbers, and exact home addresses are never published.
2. Informed Legal Guardian Consent
No child is ever listed without documented consent from their verified parent, legal guardian, or registered caregiver. Guardians have the right to request profile modifications or removal from the platform at any time without penalty.
3. Zero Unmoderated Direct Contact
For the safety of both sponsors and children, direct unvetted contact (including private social media messaging, unannounced visits, or personal phone calls) is strictly prohibited.
- All letters and progress updates are mediated by authorized school coordinators.
- Sponsors may not send personal packages or unmonitored gifts directly to a child's home.
- Community visits may only occur through official, chaperoned Imurenge community events with prior committee approval.
4. Direct Institutional Disbursements
Sponsorship funds are never given as unmonitored cash to individuals. Payments for school tuition and scholastic materials are wired directly to the child's registered school account, and health insurance is purchased through the official national health service (Mutuelle de Santé).
