Rev. Mudagiri Tabazi Noe was born in 1942 in the village of Migera, located in the Moyen Plateau region of what is now the Democratic Republic of Congo. He was a member of the Banyamulenge community and grew up immersed in the rich culture and traditions of his people. From a young age, he demonstrated a keen mind and a deep sensitivity to spiritual matters, qualities that would shape his life and ministry.
Family and Early Life
Mudagiri was raised in a family that valued faith and community. His upbringing in the highlands of Migera provided him with a close connection to the land and to the traditional ways of life, which included respect for elders, communal responsibilities, and spiritual awareness. Even as a child, he showed exceptional curiosity and dedication to learning, which later distinguished him as a leader among his people.

Education and Early Ministry
In 1973, Mudagiri became the first Banyamulenge (Abaporo) to teach at a Bible school, marking the beginning of a lifetime commitment to spiritual leadership and education. He pursued formal theological studies at the Bible School in Bukavu, graduating in 1976 with a degree in Theology. His intellectual ability and dedication quickly set him apart, earning him recognition as a gifted teacher and mentor.
He served as a Bible school teacher in Bukavu from 1973 to 1974 and again from 1976 to 1978. In 1985, he took on leadership roles at the Bible School of Bijombo, serving as both teacher and administrator until 1998. His commitment to nurturing new generations of Christian leaders was unwavering, and his influence spread across the region.
Leadership and Pastoral Work
From January 1, 1978, until July 26, 2008, Rev. Mudagiri Tabazi Noe served as the pastor of the Bijombo church. Concurrently, from 1985 to 2009, he led the Bijombo District, overseeing spiritual growth and organizational development in his community. In addition, from 1981 to 1998, he acted as an advisor and dean for the CADC Church in Sud-Kivu and supervised the parish in Bujumbura, Burundi.
In 1978, when four church centers were designated for the Banyamulenge community, Rev. Mudagiri was entrusted with the leadership of the Bijombo center, reflecting the confidence his peers and church authorities had in his vision and leadership.
Pioneering Spirit
Rev. Mudagiri was known not only for his theological knowledge but also for his pioneering spirit. He and Rev. Ntagora were among the first Banyamulenge to complete formal Bible training. While Rev. Ntagora studied for two years, Mudagiri completed four years, and later continued for an additional two, establishing himself as a primary teacher and spiritual guide. His dedication set a precedent for education, leadership, and service within the Banyamulenge Christian community.
Legacy and Passing
Rev. Mudagiri Tabazi Noe passed away in 2025 at the age of 83, in Kigali, Rwanda. His life was marked by tireless service, a deep love for his community, and a commitment to the spread of the Gospel. He transformed the lives of countless individuals, trained generations of church leaders, and strengthened the spiritual foundation of the Banyamulenge people.
His legacy continues to live on through the churches, ministries, and leaders he nurtured. He remains a shining example of faith, leadership, and devotion, inspiring future generations to serve with courage, wisdom, and love.
